D&C 110, Jude 1

13 After this vision had closed, another great and glorious vision burst upon us; for Elijah the prophet, who was taken to heaven without tasting death, stood before us, and said:
14 Behold, the time has fully come, which was spoken of by the mouth of Malachi—testifying that he [Elijah] should be sent, before the great and dreadful day of the Lord come—
15 To turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the children to the fathers, lest the whole earth be smitten with a curse—
16 Therefore, the keys of this dispensation are committed into your hands; and by this ye may know that the great and dreadful day of the Lord is near, even at the doors.

I just keep seeing the theme of the Second Coming in these verses I read. That is so interesting to me. I want to learn more about it so this is good.

Jude 1

14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.
17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

Having not the spirit... Is this literal, like all non-LDS people, or are we talking the Light of Christ? I am inclined to think the latter.

20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Again, second coming.

that is in Jude huh interesting in that so many of our contemporary Christians refuse to acknowledge the role of the bishop in the passing of judgment on the hose of Israel and there it is I suppose it could be taken another way I can see it both ways but anyhow interesting.
I think it says somewhere in the Doctrine and that the spirit of the lord will never cease to strive with man. Until they refuse him and that does not happen very often so I think it is that the Holy Ghost will not be able to be their constant companion if they are church members and if They are not then the Spirit of the lord will not be able to have as great an influence in their lives. Some people just refuse the spirit and do not let it in no matter how hard it beats on the door.
The second coming is interesting. study more of it
love you

That's true, some people do just refuse it. That's sad.
