1 Verily thus saith the Lord: It is wisdom in my servant David W. Patten, that he settle up all his business as soon as he possibly can, and make a disposition of his merchandise, that he may perform a mission unto me next spring, in company with others, even twelve including himself, to testify of my name and bear glad tidings unto all the world.
Wow, can you imagine being called up by the Prophet and he tells you to sell everything you own and go on a mission. It would be scary and exciting. Like the feeling I get with an impending move, especially this one when we still don't know where we're going. It would be scary to liquidate everything you own though, there goes your security (as you know it). It would be exciting to live "on the Lord" though.

4 And after that, those who have thus been tithed shall pay one-tenth of all their interest annually; and this shall be a standing law unto them forever, for my holy priesthood, saith the Lord.
5 Verily I say unto you, it shall come to pass that all those who gather unto the land of Zion shall be tithed of their surplus properties, and shall observe this law, or they shall not be found worthy to abide among you.
6 And I say unto you, if my people observe not this law, to keep it holy, and by this law sanctify the land of Zion unto me, that my statutes and my judgments may be kept thereon, that it may be most holy, behold, verily I say unto you, it shall not be a land of Zion unto you.
Pay your tithing! You won't have Zion unless you do. Interesting. You could live in actual Zion and it wouldn't be Zion for you if you aren't tithing.

Did you know that when people are called on missions that the entire Leadership of the church is sitting around a table once a month and they pray over each one and each one is assigned a mission based on what the Lord tells that Apostle. So in a way each person who is called is the same as David Patten. We are all called to leave everything and go and serve the Lord for 2 years or so.
Good thing we pay our tithing. We will not be burned and will be good to go for the second coming
I did know that, you told me before.
