3 Nephi 18

34 And I give you these commandments because of the disputations which have been among you. And blessed are ye if ye have no disputations among you.
35 And now I go unto the Father, because it is expedient that I should go unto the Father for your sakes.
36 And it came to pass that when Jesus had made an end of these sayings, he touched with his hand the disciples whom he had chosen, one by one, even until he had touched them all, and spake unto them as he touched them.
37 And the multitude heard not the words which he spake, therefore they did not bear record; but the Disciples bare record that he gave them power to give the Holy Ghost. And I will show unto you hereafter that this record is true.
38 And it came to pass that when Jesus had touched them all, there came a cloud and overshadowed the multitude that they could not see Jesus.
39 And while they were overshadowed he departed from them, and ascended into heaven. And the Disciples saw and did bear record that he ascended again into heaven
.

This is energy work. I can't believe I never saw that before. I can transfer the knowledge of energy work to someone by touching them with the intent of them receiving it. Wow!

D&C 136, JS Matthew 1

38 Which foundation he did lay, and was faithful; and I took him to myself.
39 Many have marveled because of his death; but it was needful that he should seal his testimony with his blood, that he might be honored and the wicked might be condemned.
40 Have I not delivered you from your enemies, only in that I have left a witness of my name?

I have been delivered of my enemies. This is a promise that is made to me in my patriarchal blessing. I will be protected from the things that wish to harm me.

JS Matthew

47 But know this, if the good man of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to have been broken up, but would have been ready.
48 Therefore be ye also ready, for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of Man cometh.
49 Who, then, is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

This is a good reminder. I need to think of these things more often. Lay up treasures in heaven and don't worry so much about the stuff down here!

2 Timothy 4, Mosiah 12

16 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

I want to remember to say this "Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me." He does so many times and I need to remember this and tell people and be more grateful.

18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

This is true for me as well and was said to me in my patriarchal blessing.

Mosiah 12

7 And they shall be smitten with a great pestilence—and all this will I do because of their iniquities and abominations.
8 And it shall come to pass that except they repent I will utterly destroy them from off the face of the earth; yet they shall leave a record behind them, and I will preserve them for other nations which shall possess the land; yea, even this will I do that I may discover the abominations of this people to other nations. And many things did Abinadi prophesy against this people.
9 And it came to pass that they were angry with him; and they took him and carried him bound before the king, and said unto the king: Behold, we have brought a man before thee who has prophesied evil concerning thy people, and saith that God will destroy them.

How scary would it be to have to do that. I guess as a prophet there is a good chance you know what the outcome will be. And if it's death there is a good chance you are ok with it. It seems scary to me though.

D&C 77

11 Q. What are we to understand by sealing the one hundred and forty-four thousand, out of all the tribes of Israel—twelve thousand out of every tribe?
A. We are to understand that those who are sealed are high priests, ordained unto the holy order of God, to administer the everlasting gospel; for they are they who are ordained out of every nation, kindred, tongue, and people, by the angels to whom is given power over the nations of the earth, to bring as many as will come to the church of the Firstborn.

I've wondered about that. I don't remember reading this before. That makes sense.

Appendix

GUIDE TO THE SCRIPTURES

Kirtland Temple

The first temple built by the Church in modern times. The Saints built it in Kirtland, Ohio (United States of America), according to the Lord’s command (D&C 94: 3-9). One purpose was to provide a place where worthy Church members could receive spiritual power, authority, and enlightenment (D&C 109; 110). It was dedicated on 27 March 1836; the dedicatory prayer was given to the Prophet Joseph Smith by revelation (D&C 109). The Lord gave several important revelations and restored needed priesthood keys in this temple (D&C 110; 137). It was not used for the full temple ordinances given in temples today.

4 Nephi 1

36 And it came to pass that in this year there arose a people who were called the Nephites, and they were true believers in Christ; and among them there were those who were called by the Lamanites—Jacobites, and Josephites, and Zoramites;
37 Therefore the true believers in Christ, and the true worshipers of Christ, (among whom were the three disciples of Jesus who should tarry) were called Nephites, and Jacobites, and Josephites, and Zoramites.
38 And it came to pass that they who rejected the gospel were called Lamanites, and Lemuelites, and Ishmaelites; and they did not dwindle in unbelief, but they did willfully rebel against the gospel of Christ; and they did teach their children that they should not believe, even as their fathers, from the beginning, did dwindle.

How terrible it will be for them at judgment day. I am grateful for my testimony and the way I learned it. I've done the willfully rebel thing and I KNOW that doesn't make me happy!

Words of Mormon 1

17 For behold, king Benjamin was a holy man, and he did reign over his people in righteousness; and there were many holy men in the land, and they did speak the word of God with power and with authority; and they did use much sharpness because of the stiffneckedness of the people—

The last talks Chris and I gave in church had much sharpness. I am usually very sharp with Chris too when we have a disagreement. I usually try and get to the bottom of it, not beat around the bush.

Chris is in a position now where he has people working for him, about 20 people so today I told him he should learn from King Benjamin about being a leader. Cool stuff.

James 3

14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

My parameters for this scripture was to find one in the Bible about self esteem. This is a good one. Verses 16 and 17 especially.

2 Timothy 3, Ether 12

11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

No kidding. And a lot of it is self made :) By that I mean the trials we endure, and persecution by Satan.

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

I've been on fire with learning about the Law of Attraction, and the parts that weren't in The Secret, that's what I choose to see in this verse. Continue in what you have learned. It's nice to have an affirmation that I am on the right track. It's awesome!

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

I don't know if 16 is a scripture mastery one, but it's one that I had to learn as a child.

17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Ether 12

26 And when I had said this, the Lord spake unto me, saying: fools mock, but they shall mourn; and my grace is sufficient for the meek, that they shall take no advantage of your weakness;

I'm writing a book about self esteem and how that can hold back the Law of Attraction, and other laws from "working" for you in the way you want. I was thinking tonight about WHEN I get national recognition, there will be many people who want to disprove it and be irritated by it, and I'll have to know my stuff in order to be able to respond to it. This verse is for me too. And I need to be meek. Good to remember.

27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.

Ooh, this fits right in with self esteem. We know our weakness, and we are tempted to feel bad and self-hate. But the point is to be humble.

4 Nephi 1

4 And it came to pass that the thirty and seventh year passed away also, and there still continued to be peace in the land.
5 And there were great and marvelous works wrought by the disciples of Jesus, insomuch that they did heal the sick, and raise the dead, and cause the lame to walk, and the blind to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear; and all manner of miracles did they work among the children of men; and in nothing did they work miracles save it were in the name of Jesus.

I wonder how they did the miracles. Reiki came about by a man who wanted to learn how Christ healed. Reiki was taught to him instead. It's an interesting story. It made me think about it, and I wonder what, physically was done to heal.
